shefali passes away

Bollywood actress and model Shefali Jariwala, widely known as the iconic “Kaanta Laga Girl”, passed away in Mumbai on the night of June 27, 2025, at the age of 42. Reports indicate she suffered a cardiac arrest at her Andheri residence. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with three others, rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.

A post-mortem was conducted at Cooper Hospital, and a preliminary police probe has been launched. Law enforcement officers have questioned household staff, and forensic teams visited her residence as part of routine protocol.

Shefali rose to prominence with the 2002 remix “Kaanta Laga” and later appeared in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and reality shows such as Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss 13. Her final role was in the TV series Shaitani Rasmein in 2024. She was also a prominent social media influencer with over 3.4 million followers; her last Instagram post appeared just days before her sudden death.

Celebrities across the industry—including Bharti Singh, Himanshi Khurana, Kushal Tandon, Aly Goni, Mika Singh, Arti Singh, Kiku Sharda, and Rashami Desai—have expressed shock and grief over her untimely passing. Among them, Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant Hindustani Bhau was spotted at Cooper Hospital deeply upset.

In light of initial reports, attention has returned to Shefali’s past health struggles. At age 15, she suffered from epilepsy but managed to control it for two decades through treatment, lifestyle changes, and meditation. While experts note that cardiac arrest can be sudden and is sometimes linked to stress, hypertension, or lifestyle factors, officials have yet to confirm any serious pre-existing conditions.

Her last rites were performed on 28 June at Oshiwara Crematorium by her husband Parag Tyagi, father Satish Jariwala, and sister Shivani. The emotional farewell included close friends, with many urging the public to respect the grieving family’s privacy.
